College Football Pick Of The Day (October 26th): NCAA Week 9 Moneyline Pick

For today’s college football pick of the day, I’m looking at the Baylor vs. UCF game. UCF Enteres Friday night’s home game at the Acrisure Bounce House riding the emotional high of a historic 39-31 double-overtime upset of number two BYU. Backup quarterback Keyone Jenkins had a great game with four touchdowns. It was the Knights’ first win ever over an AP Top 5 team.

That kind of euphoria can also lead to a classic letdown spot, especially on a short week. The Knights snapped a two-game losing streak with the BYU win. This year, they’ve averaged 32.7 points per game while allowing 23.

Baylor brings one of the better defenses in the country to Orlando. The Bears allow just 16.1 points per game and have limited opponents to 104 rushing yards per game. They’ve held most of their FBS opponents under 20 points and generate consistent pressure. The defense has been the backbone of the season.

Baylor fired coach David Aranda on Sunday after a 25-24 loss at Kansas that ended a long streak against the Jayhawks. Klanderman, who built this defensive identity, takes over on a short week. Transitions can be messy, but defenses travel. At times, coaching changes can give at least a one-game bump, though. Baylor is 5-2 against the spread this season and will continue to stay in games.

The combo of UCF’s post-upset emotional hangover and a one-game bump from a coaching change for Baylor has me taking Baylor on the road.

The Pick: Baylor +100 (at +1.5 spread)
