Football Pick of the Day (October 31st): NFL Week 8 Moneyline Pick
Las Vegas Raiders vs New York Jets
1:00am – Sunday – November 1st
It’s hard to get behind the Raiders right now. After bursting out of the gate with a 3-0 record, they’ve dropped four straight. There is talk about a change at quarterback with Fernando Mendoza waiting in the wings just behind Kirk Cousins. Despite all that noise, I think you have to examine the circumstances.
The four teams that beat them have a combined record of 17-9. All four of the teams rank in the top 12 of the league in terms of point differential. So while this run has not been particularly fun for Raiders fans, it can be excused with just being the most brutal part of their schedule.
Now they’ll face the Jets, who are fresh off a loss against the winless Dolphins. Geno Smith seems to be throwing a lot more free, which has led to both more yards and an increase in interceptions. That’s key for the Raiders, who have a 9:4 turnover ratio in wins and a 3:4 turnover ratio in losses. Look for them to force some mistakes and pull out the moneyline on the road.
