College Football Pick Of The Day (October 30th): NCAA Week 9 Spread Pick
Today’s Week 9 college football pick of the day looks at a Big 10 matchup between Indiana and Minnesota. Saturday’s homecoming tilt in Bloomington between number four Indiana and Minnesota looks like it could be a low-scoring grind.
The Hoosiers have turned into a defensive force, allowing just 12 points per game while ranking near the top of the FBS in yards allowed per play. Their rushing defense is elite. Indiana’s last three games have all stayed under 37 combined points, including a 13-6 game against Michigan. Quarterback Josh Hoover is expected to play after a shoulder issue limited him last week.
Minnesota just had a 13-10 win over Iowa, yet that result seemed more luck than dominance. They were outgained by Iowa, went 2-for-15 on third downs, but got four turnovers from Iowa. Their rushing attack ranks last in the Big 10, and they are only averaging 17 points against Power Four opponents. They’ll also be without their starting center.
This sets up as a defensive Big Ten affair. Indiana’s front, led by pass-rush threats like Tobi Osunsanmi, will disrupt Minnesota all game. However, their offense hasn’t lit it up either. Therefore, I like the under.
The Pick: Under 41 Points
