Sean opened with the schedule. Cincinnati is coming off a road win over a division rival, plays a lowly Titans team, and has an international game on deck. He called it a sandwich spot. The Titans have a bye on deck, and Ryan wondered what they would be looking forward to, maybe a quarterback change.
Sean understood why the spread is big, since the matchups all favor the Bengals. But he pointed to the Titans covering a backdoor against the Ravens, and to a 3-7 ATS record for the Bengals as a favorite of more than seven points. In his view that is a decent sample of Cincinnati not blowing out bad teams when it should. He said he was not high on the Titans. It is the NFL, and he thinks they cover all day.
Ryan gave him the sandwich spot. His worry was the run game. The Titans leaned on it last week, and he thinks they face a tougher run defense this time. He also thinks Tennessee’s coaching staff is frustrated with Cam Ward’s passing, so he sees a defensive touchdown in play and laid the Bengals. He admitted he would much rather be laying 9.5 than 10.5, but he stayed on the favorite. Sean answered by taking the Titans plus the 10.5 and telling Ryan he was pretty square.
