From early November to today, we’ve made it all the way through the college basketball season. All that’s left is five championship games before we discover the field of 68. However, a slate of five games is still a slate of five games. If anything, we should look to bet all of these, but there are three games that the books may have mispriced. Let’s go through today’s college basketball picks and then learn what the bracket looks like.

Penn vs. Yale
Start Time: 12:00 PM EST
This game is the final of the Ivy League conference tournament, and it’s being played at a neutral site in Ithaca, NY.
Penn enters this game with a 17-11 overall record and an 18-9 mark overall ATS. Yale comes into this game with a 24-5 overall record and a 12-15 overall mark against the spread.
These two teams played twice in the Ivy League regular season. Yale won both matchups, but Penn covered as a 9.5-point underdog on the road in the most recent matchup. Penn has also won eight of their last 10 games and is 8-2 ATS over that stretch. They’ve covered in seven straight games coming into this game.
Only one of the last five Ivy League tournament championship games played has been won by double-digits.
Yale is the better team, but Penn has been exceptionally chippy in Year One of the Fran McCaffery era. The Quakers are solid defensively and shouldn’t let this game get too far away from them. Penn likes to play at pace, but so does Yale. They’ll likely slow this one down, limit possessions, and look to frustrate a talented Yale team. Penn did well to get past Harvard in the semifinals, but Yale will prove to be too much to earn another win. However, it’s hard not to like the Quakers to stay within the big spread. Yale is 3-6 ATS as a double-digit favorite. Let’s lock up Penn to keep this within the 10-5-point spread.
Best Bet: Penn +10.5
Vanderbilt vs. Arkansas
Start Time: 1:00 PM EST
This game is the final of the SEC conference tournament, and it’s being played at a neutral site in Nashville, TN.
Vanderbilt enters this game with a 26-7 overall mark and an 18-14 record overall against the spread. Arkansas comes into this matchup with a 25-8 overall record and a 21-12 mark overall ATS.
These two teams played once in conference play this year. Arkansas won by 25 points at home and covered as a 1.5-point favorite. This game is essentially a home game for Vanderbilt, but Arkansas will likely have more fans than they would at a true campus game at Vanderbilt. This is each team’s third game in three days. However, Arkansas is off an overtime win over Ole Miss, while Vanderbilt cruised to a win over Florida.
Arkansas plays one of the shortest benches in the country, and they’re off an overtime game. Oh, and they have to play in front of a partisan crowd in Nashville. The Razorbacks also know that they have an at-large bid for the NCAA tournament wrapped up. Every angle possible is set up for the Commodores to win and cover. Vanderbilt also has the revenge angle for the regular-season beatdown the Hogs put on them earlier in the year.
This is a case of the line telling us exactly what is going to happen in this game. Let’s lock up Vanderbilt to win and cover as the short favorite.
Best Bet: Vanderbilt -2.5
Wichita State vs. South Florida
Start Time: 3:15 PM EST
This game is the final of the Conference-USA conference tournament, and it’s being played at a neutral site in Birmingham, AL.
Wichita State enters this matchup with a 22-10 overall record and a 21-10 mark overall ATS. South Florida comes into this game with a 24-8 overall mark and a 17-14 record ATS.
South Florida comes into this game on a 10-game winning streak. The Bulls are 7-3 ATS over that stretch. Wichita State has won nine of its last 10. The Shockers are 8-2 ATS over that stretch.
These two teams played twice during conference play. Both teams won and covered on their opponent’s floor. USF lost by one at home in overtime, but the Bulls won by eight as a 1.5-point favorite in Wichita.
Wichita State beat a worn-out Tulsa team off a triple-overtime win to advance in the semifinals of the CUSA conference tournament. South Florida beat Charlotte by 22 as a 15.5-point favorite to move on to the final. Both teams were able to get their bench guys a few minutes, so we shouldn’t see an advantage in rest.
South Florida is borderline for an at-large bid for the tournament and is likely on the outside looking in. It’s unlikely that CUSA will get two bids this year. Wichita State definitely needs to win to get in. They have no chance of an at-large bid.
South Florida has been the best team in CUSA all year, and this is their chance to really cement their status as the big dog in the conference. The Bulls have a more explosive offense than Wichita State and have proven that they can step up and defend when they need to. The line is a little beefy, but it’s likely telling. Let’s lock up South Florida to win and cover as they punch their ticket to the dance.
Best Bet: South Florida -5.5
