Super Bowl LX is just days away. The New England Patriots are set to do battle with the Seattle Seahawks for the second time in Super Bowl history. New England is here via the greatest single-season statistical turnaround in NFL history. Let’s take a look at this New England Patriots team and preview their side of Super Bowl LX. Find out why the Patriots will win the Super Bowl, and place our best bets on the team and their players.
How The Patriots Got to Super Bowl LX
New England had one of the easier schedules in recent NFL history for the 2025 regular season. After going just 4-13 in 2024 and firing head coach Jerod Mayo, they scored a last-place schedule, and then got the luck of a weak AFC East and NFC South. They did all they could do, though, and that was take care of business. Hiring Mike Vrabel was a huge move for the team, and they flipped their record to 14-3. They upset the Buffalo Bills early in the year, and then had them on the ropes in their second meeting. They blew out their competition in many cases, like a 42-13 win over Carolina and a 31-13 win over Tennessee.
The Patriots carried the momentum of going 13-1 down the stretch into the AFC playoffs as the #2 seed. Their offense struggled, but did just enough against three top-five defenses to make their path to the Super Bowl. The first time in history that a team has defeated three of the top five-ranked defenses in a single postseason.
Patriots Super Bowl Preview – Injuries
Health-wise, the Patriots are in pretty good shape. Drake Maye logged a full practice on Monday, saying, “I threw as much today as I would in a normal practice.” The shoulder injury seems overplayed, and I expect Maye to be just fine for Sunday’s big game. For Patriots edge Harold Landry, everything still seems up in the air. On Tuesday, he said he “anticipated” he would play Sunday, but that it’s up in the air. It would be a big loss for the Patriots to have a limited or no Landry at all as he deals with his knee issue. Robert Spillane, a key leader on the Patriots’ defense and their signal caller from the linebacker position, looks primed to return after re-injuring his ankle in the AFC Championship Game.
Patriots Super Bowl Preview – Why the Patriots Will Win
The Patriots can easily win this game if all factions of their team show up. Their offense has the ability to be elite. Their defense is elite, and their special teams have been strong this year. The Patriots have a coaching staff that is experienced in this game. Mike Vrabel played in four Super Bowls as a Patriots player, winning three of them. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has coached in nine Super Bowls, winning six of them, all with the Patriots organization. That means of the 60 Super Bowls, McDaniels will have coached in a 1/6th of them. This experience gives the Patriots a strong advantage over the Seahawks.
#Patriots HC Mike Vrabel says he would probably only cut off half of a very important appendage for a Super Bowl.
“I mean, I’d probably cut it in half. Leave her 6.” 😂😂😂

If Drake Maye can return to the MVP level he played at during the regular season, or close to it. He can keep this Patriots team in this game and lead them to victory. Not only did Maye and his Patriots defeat three top-five defenses in the playoffs, but they are the first team in the history of the league to go 9-0 on the road. While this isn’t a “road” game, the Patriots have proven they can win no matter the environment.
Underdogs have had the advantage in recent Super Bowl history, stats that favor the Patriots. In 57 Super Bowls where there has been an underdog (2 games were pick ’ems), they have won the game outright 20 times. That includes 10 of the last 15 games that had a favorite. For what it’s worth, the Patriots in white jerseys are 4-2 in the Super Bowl, including the 28-3 game and their win over the Seahawks. White jerseys are also 15-5 in the last 20 games. There have also been nine rematches of previous Super Bowl games; the winner of the first game holds a 6-3 advantage when the teams rematch. The Patriots, of course, beat Seattle in Super Bowl XLIX.

New England Patriots Best Bets for Super Bowl LX
Drake Maye Over 37.5 Rushing Yards (-118)
Maye has easily crossed this mark in two of the three Patriots playoff games after 450 rushing yards during the regular season. This feels like a bet that should hit whether the Patriots win or lose this game. Maye will need to use his legs against this defense. To help the Patriots get up, or if the Patriots are down to catch up. With two weeks to plan some quarterback runs, and Maye just improvising under pressure (which he should be under a lot in this one) I expect him to cruise past this number.
Patriots +5.5 (-122)
To the point of the underdog numbers above, underdogs have been great in the Super Bowl as of late. When it comes to covering the spread, underdogs are 17-7 over the last 24 games. That means they are covering at a clip of 70.8%. Underdogs of three or more points are 11-2, 84.6% over the last 13 years.
Not only do they have the numbers in their favor, but this team also has the right mentality, the right attitude. “We all we need, we all we got.” It’s been their motto throughout the playoffs. They are loving the underdog role; they are leaning into nobody believes. They also shouldn’t be here. “Easy schedule,” “easy playoffs,” they’ve heard all the excuses. This team is going to show up loose, ready to play, and with no pressure on them. Give me the Patriots to cover and win the game outright (+212).
