We’re already seven weeks into the College Football season, as Week 6 has arrived! Last week produced a few big upsets with Ole Miss taking down LSU and Alabama defeating Georgia. What upset magic will Week 6 bring us? Let’s build an upset parlay using only College Football underdogs in Week 6.
This week delivers matchups like Illinois at Purdue in the Big Ten. Iowa State at Cincinnati in the Big 12. Texas at Florida in the SEC. Bill Belichick and Dabo Swinney face off for the first time. Vanderbilt and Alabama square off in a top 25 matchup between two teams on fire, and it’s all headlined by the big ACC matchup of Miami at Florida State in a Sunshine State showdown. Now is a good time to remind you to bet these teams individually on the moneyline, and I like to bet them with the points as well. If you did this last week, it was hugely successful. If they are good enough to pull the upset, it makes a great case for taking them with the points as well.
College Football Week 6 Best Bets: Upset Parlay
Purdue Boilermakers (+300)
The Fighting Illini of Illinois have been through it these last couple of weeks. They were blown out by border state rivals Indiana 63-10 on the road. Then last week at home, they answered with an upset over the USC Trojans. Next week, they face #1 Ohio State, which leaves this little game against little ole Purdue as the perfect look-ahead spot. The Boilermakers hold a 3-1 record over Illinois in their last four matchups. This Purdue team, led by new coach Barry Odom and quarterback Ryan Browne, has been solid in 2025. They opened the year with two lesser opponents in Ball State and Southern Illinois and easily took care of business against both. Then they had two tough matchups against USC and Notre Dame. They hung tough in both games where they were overmatched, and for a while in that USC game, I felt good about my Moneyline bet.
Purdue has those two tough games to sharpen their game and get ready. They then had a two-week bye, giving them time to rest, recover, and get ahead of the game plan. With a smart first-year head coach like Barry Odom, that screams positivity in my mind. They are hosting this game at home, and it’s the perfect spot for them to take care of business. If they can get the pass rush going, Ryan Browne can put together a great game and get the running game going. Watch out for these Boilermakers. Give me them to upset Illinois on Saturday at home.
Iowa State Cyclones (+105)
This is a very small dog, but small dogs bark, and they bite as well. It’s the perfect middle leg to prop up our parlay, and this line is ridiculous. Iowa State is clearly the better team in this matchup, and the fact that they even register as an underdog is shocking. The Cyclones have been impressive all season long. The Cyclones kicked off the College Football season in Dublin, Iowa, with a win over the Kansas State Wildcats. They followed it up with a thrashing of South Dakota and then took down in-state rivals, the Iowa Hawkeyes. They sleptwalked through Arkansas State and then whooped up on Arizona last week, calling the dogs off early. Their quarterback, Rocco Becht, has looked great, throwing for over 1,100 yards, seven touchdowns, and only two interceptions.
Cincinnati held tough against a Nebraska team that isn’t as good as everyone thought they would be to open the year. They beat Bowling Green and thrashed Northwestern State. Then last week they went into Lawrence, Kansas, and upset the Kansas Jayhawks in a game they were almost six-point underdogs in. To turn around and be the favorite at home against a top 15 team after an emotional upset isn’t an easy task for the Bearcats. Iowa State has won the last two matchups of these teams, covering the spread in both games. They’ve also won seven of their last nine road games. This is a great Iowa State team with a lot ahead of them on the horizon; they’ll be the first team to secure bowl eligibility with their win this weekend.
Florida Gators (+220)
The Florida Gators have stumbled out of the gate. They picked up their gimme win over LIU in their first game, but it’s been tough since. The South Florida Bulls came into The Swamp and took down the Gators at home 18-16. They lost to LSU in Death Valley, and last week, Miami cruised to a win over them. At this point, it would be easy to give up on the Gators and pack it in for next year. But this week could be a big season-changing game for this program. The next Manning in a long line of SEC quarterbacks named Manning comes to The Swamp looking to pick up the first big game win of his career.
Texas held its own in Week 1 against the Ohio State Buckeyes, but couldn’t get the job done. It’s been all cupcakes on their schedule since, and we have yet to see Manning show up in a big spot. The Swamp is a brutal place to play, and these Gators have nothing to lose at this point. The Longhorns have been inconsistent on offense and penalty-prone. Florida’s Jadan Baugh has been running the ball down opponents’ throats, even against tough competition. Give me Billy Napier to rally the troops and DJ Lagway to lead the upset of the week for the Gators.
Parlay Purdue + Iowa State + Florida (+2524)
Toss all three of these together in a parlay, and a cool $20 bill will net you $505.80. Crack open your favorite beverage, get comfortable on the couch, and enjoy some barking dogs on Saturday!
