Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers Preview and Predictions

Sam Darnold leads his 0-1 Seattle Seahawks on a tough road trip in Week 2. Across the country to Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Aaron Rodgers and former Seahawk DK Metcalf await them with their 1-0 Pittsburgh Steelers. Let’s preview the Seahawks at Steelers Week 2 NFL matchup.

MYBOOKIE BONUS

Week 1 was a tough home game for the Seahawks as Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers came to town. Seattle jumped up in the second quarter and took the lead into the fourth with the help of the 12th man. They just didn’t quite have it at the end as the 49ers came out on top. Jaxson Smith-Njigba was the star he showed he could be last season, catching nine passes for 124 yards, including one 40-yard bomb from Sam Darnold.

The Steelers were in a slugfest with the New York Jets in East Rutherford in their Week 1 game. Aaron Rodgers showed that he still has what it takes to quarterback a team well. He completed 22 of 30 passes for 244 yards and four, yes four, touchdown passes in the Week 1 victory. He established quick connections with both DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin. All four of his touchdown passes were delivered to different players.

Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers Preview and Predictions

DK Metcalf 6+ Receptions (+145)

Most books have his line set at 4.5 with a -135 number, so we’ll just bump it to 6 receptions and get a much better number. There is probably nobody in the NFL more vindictive than Aaron Rodgers. He comes into this game with his new #1 target facing his old team. Metcalf requested and was granted a trade from the Seahawks after being left to feel like “an outsider” with the new regime.

Rodgers already targeted Metcalf seven times in Week 1. I’d expect him to go out of his way in Week 2 to make sure Metcalf shows off big in front of said regime and his old team. You can also find Metcalf 2+ touchdowns at +1500. I’ll absolutely be betting that as well!

Pittsburgh Steelers -3 (-115)

The Steelers are a lock for me in Week 3, and in high consideration if you are looking for a survivor pick in Week 2. Mike Tomlin at home against a quarterback that’s seen ghosts on the field before? Yes please. Aaron Rodgers against Mike Macdonald? Yes please. This is not a good Seahawks team, and Macdonald was my long-shot pick preseason to be the first coach fired.

Seattle isn’t going across the country into the Steelers’ house and coming away with this one. The fact that this is only -3 is a crazy good line for the Steelers, and a few select spots are still holding -2.5. The juice is worth the squeeze on that one. Lock up the Steelers in my Week 2 NFL picks.
