Bills -3.5 is the number both guys played, and that was the line when they taped on November 4. The Bills visit the Vikings on Monday, November 9 at 8:15 PM ET in Minneapolis, MN. Sean called it chalky but said he was not going to overthink it. The full segment is on the NFL Picks Week 9 episode.
Bills vs Vikings Odds
The Buffalo Bills were 3.5-point favorites over the Minnesota Vikings, with a total of 45.5, when the guys taped on November 4.
Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Bills -3.5
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Bills -3.5
The Vikings offense is the whole problem. The guys said Minnesota has not announced a starter, which leaves either a banged-up Kyler Murray or Carson Wentz under center. As Sean put it, this team plays good defense and has no offense. Eventually a defense cracks when it knows it has to get every single stop to win. He also thinks Wentz is the better fit for Kevin O’Connell.
Then there is the matchup Sean was most excited about. He said Josh Allen is 6-0 against Brian Flores, with 16 touchdowns and two interceptions in those games. Ryan was quick to note that all six came when Flores was the Miami head coach. Sean’s answer was that you can’t really blitz Josh Allen, and he has been very good in a dome. Ryan added that blitzing fails because Allen will freestyle and pop you for a big play, and Minnesota has not been great against explosives.
The ground game got its turn too. Sean had already said this could be the game where James Cook gets going, which is why he was not keen on Josh Allen props. Ryan then brought the numbers: the Lions ran 34 times for 218 yards against this Flores defense, and the Colts went 29 for 141 the week before. You have to hit them in the mouth, he said. As bad as the Buffalo defense has been, Sean sees no spark or energy in this Vikings team.
