The 49ers come out of their bye and the Raiders head straight into theirs, and the guys brought up that schedule spot early. The Raiders visit the 49ers on Sunday, November 8 at 4:05 PM ET in Santa Clara, CA. When the guys taped on November 4, the 49ers were laying 10, and the guys split on the side: Ryan has the 49ers -10 and Sean has the Raiders +10. The full segment is on the NFL Picks Week 9 episode.
Raiders vs 49ers Odds
As of the November 4 taping, the 49ers were 10-point favorites over the Raiders, and the total was 52.5.
Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): 49ers -10
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Raiders +10
The guys wondered whether this could be Kirk Cousins’ last start. To them, the Raiders seem to be looking toward a quarterback change at some point, and the bye comes right after this game. After the week off, the Raiders draw the Chargers, Broncos, Titans, Cardinals and Chiefs.
Sean started from the 49ers’ loss to the Falcons before the bye and the injuries on the 49ers offense. He expects those players to suit up but wonders how effective they will be, and he called the risk of re-injury high. The Raiders lost by only three as a home dog against both the Bills and the Chiefs, he noted, and the Bay Area holds plenty of Raiders fans. The trend he went back to: Kirk Cousins is 7 and 2 against the spread as a dog of more than seven points. Sean also doubted the 49ers defense is dominant enough to shut the back door.
Ryan gave the rivalry angle some credit, then said he would shock the world and lay the points. His reason was mostly how bad the Raiders defense has been. He expects the 49ers to come out of the bye looking sharp, with the offense humming.
Sean wobbled a little at the end and said he does not see the Raiders as live on the money line. He still settled on the Raiders +10.
