Ohio State vs BYU Odds

BYU was the favorite at 2.5 points over Ohio State when the guys taped on October 29.

Our Picks

Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Ohio State +2.5
Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): BYU -2.5
Colby Dant (@thecolbyd): BYU -2.5

The segment opened with BYU. One of the guys said BYU Nation would still travel for it, since this is a preseason top 25 team in his words, but he thought moving the game off campus was dumb. He called Ohio State a program on the rise and noted that BYU keeps throwing money at basketball. Then he made his call: the altitude play, BYU laying the two and a half.

The Ohio State answer went at the crowd. The guys pointed out that this game falls on the Monday of Holy War week, and they figured BYU sports fans would be focused on that rivalry. That is where the edge for Ohio State came from, along with the idea that Buckeye fans would show up in Salt Lake City. Ryan’s pick was Ohio State plus the points.

The last word went back to BYU. Conditioning early in a basketball season is rough, the guys said, and elevation matters most early, before teams are fully conditioned and a bunch of games are played. Their view was that the edge fades later in the year. For now they were happy laying the short number with BYU.
