Brooklyn Nets vs Cleveland Cavaliers

Start Time – 7:30 PM EST

Someone is going to lose their zero tomorrow night in Cleveland. Both the Brooklyn Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers dropped their season openers, so they will both enter Saturday night’s action at 0-1.

The Nets losing games should be a common occurrence this season; for the Cavs, not so much. While Cleveland is a big favorite on the spread, I don’t think it is wide enough. My line is Cleveland -17, so the Cavs on the spread is the move.

Best Bet: Cleveland -10.5 (-110)

Houston Rockets vs Atlanta Hawks

Start Time – 8:30 PM EST

A team will lose their zero in this matchup between the Houston Rockets and the Atlanta Hawks as well, but that zero is in the loss column (unless the Rockets lose on Friday night after this column has been written). The Hawks are out of the gate fast this year, winning their first two games, including a 47-point smackdown of the Charlotte Hornets last time out.

And while I’m not exactly picking them to win tomorrow night at home, with a spread this close, I pretty much am. I like Atlanta as a small favorite, so I’ll take them as a slight dog on the spread.
