The New Jersey Devils made big news on Friday, acquiring three-time Vezina winner and former NHL MVP Connor Hellebuyck to man the net for them for the foreseeable future. For the Devils’ sake, let’s hope he left his playoff yips back in Winnipeg.
But all that is to worry about for another day, and Hellebuyck won’t be in action tomorrow when the Devils welcome the Los Angeles Kings to the Prudential Center. New Jersey probably won’t require Hellebuyck tomorrow anyhow because Los Angeles can’t score, ranking 29th in the league in goals for.
The Devils are a solid team at both ends of the rink, as well as a strong home team (5-2). New Jersey should be about a 60%+ favorite tomorrow afternoon on their home ice, so I’ll take the Devils on the moneyline as my best bet for Saturday.
