The segment opened with a question to Colby about where USC stands. He called the Penn State win their best, and the guys agreed USC earned credit for winning in a hostile road environment there. Then Colby turned on Wisconsin. By his numbers, the Badgers’ quarterback threw for 66 yards last week, the offense went 3 of 11 on third and fourth down and finished with 214 total yards, and Wisconsin wouldn’t have scored at all without an interception UCLA threw on a halfback toss pass. Colby admitted he’s usually wary of USC traveling this far east, and he still landed on the Trojans.

Sean agreed Wisconsin’s offense is ugly. He just couldn’t trust USC as a road favorite in the Big Ten. He brought up the way USC has let bad teams hang around, going back to the Washington game, and he read the Penn State result as more about Penn State than about USC, since both of these teams beat a down Penn State team on the road. What he liked was the spot: the Badgers as a home dog, at night, with their season not over yet, against a USC team he called soft.

The trip itself became the last fight. Sean framed it as USC heading to the East Coast, got asked whether Wisconsin is closer to Washington, D.C. or Colorado, and retreated to “a couple time zones.” One of the guys summed up the other side in four words, “Wisconsin sucks,” and took USC.
