Ryan Kramer is riding with the Hokies, and he did it alone. Virginia Tech visits Clemson, SC on Saturday, October 24 at 4:00 PM PT / 7:00 PM ET, and Clemson was a 2.5-point favorite with a total of 49.5 when the guys taped on October 20. Ryan took Virginia Tech +2.5 and told Sean and Colby, who both laid the 2.5 with Clemson, that they had walked into a trap. The whole argument is on the College Football Picks Week 8 episode.
Virginia Tech vs Clemson Odds
Clemson was a 2.5-point favorite over Virginia Tech with a total of 49.5 when the guys taped on October 20.
Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Virginia Tech +2.5
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Clemson -2.5
- Colby Dant (@thecolbyd): Clemson -2.5
Ryan set the table by calling Clemson the public side. Colby opened with a complaint about the schedule instead, pointing out that the Hokies haven’t played at Clemson in over 14 years despite sharing a conference. Then he got to the bet. He can’t trust Virginia Tech on the road, and he likes that Clemson has had two weeks to prep, so he laid the 2.5. Ryan’s reply was immediate: “Oh, so you’re gonna take the trap.”
Sean joined Colby. He called it a pretty even game, but a night game at Death Valley tipped him to Clemson -2.5. He also wasn’t sold on the Hokies, saying James Franklin looks like he has lost control and pointing to losses to Cal and Pitt.
Ryan defended both the team and the coach. In his telling, Virginia Tech is two plays away from being undefeated, and he has no issues with Franklin. Sean’s comeback was that two plays away is the story of Franklin’s career. Before moving on, Ryan summed up where everyone stood: he’s on Virginia Tech, and the other two are on the wrong side.
