NASCAR heads to the “Gambling Capital of the World” this weekend. Las Vegas Motor Speedway presents the fifth different track type in the fifth race of the season for the Cup Series. The 1.5-mile tri-oval has been hosting the Cup Series since 1998. Now, let’s dive in and take a look at this weekend’s NASCAR picks, odds, and best bets for the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Christopher Bell was victorious for a third consecutive weekend in the Cup Series, marking the first driver to win three in a row since Kyle Larson did so twice in the 2021 season. Bell trails only Larson himself in this week’s betting odds. The best things to look at when heading to Vegas are, of course, past Vegas races. Kansas is very similar, and Michigan, while slightly bigger, is a great comp track. Charlotte is a looser comparison track, but it can be used as well.

Chris Buescher Top 10 Finish (+140)
If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. Chris Buescher is the gift that keeps on giving. We’ve had this same bet multiple weeks in a row, and Buescher has cashed each of the last two weeks. The driver of the RFK Racing #17 Ford can get it done anywhere, anytime, and Las Vegas and 1.5-mile tracks are no different.
Buescher has finished in the top 11 in two of the last three races here at Las Vegas. Going back even further to his time when it was just Roush Racing, in much inferior cars, Buescher has finished in the top 15 in 11 of the last 14 Las Vegas Races. He also finished 11th or better last season in both Kansas races and Michigan, the two most comparable tracks to Vegas.
Ross Chastain Over Joey Logano (-110)
Ross Chastain is a driver I love this weekend. In the six NextGen races here, he hasn’t finished worse than 12th. He has been top five in four of them. Chastain has actually been busted speeding in the last three Vegas races and still finished in the top seven in all three.
One driver who has pulled off the impressive feat of three straight races with speeding penalties in a row at Las Vegas is 🥁🥁🥁🥁
Ross Chastain. Results of 7th, 4th and 5th to show for it though! 💪🏻

Joey Logano has two of the six wins in the NextGen car at this track, so why are we betting against him? Well, those two wins both came in the fall race, to lock him into the championship race in both of his recent championship seasons. He’s not been as good in the spring race.
Ross Chastain owns the head-to-head record in the spring race. Sweeping all three of them over Logano and by an average of 13 positions. Ross also beat Joey heads up at Michigan and in both Kansas races last year. Give me the watermelon, man.
Kyle Larson Top 3 (+110)
Kyle Larson loves Las Vegas. And Las Vegas loves Kyle Larson. Larson has been great at this track in the new car while with Hendrick, and even in the old car with Chip Ganassi Racing. Larson has won two of the last three, including last spring’s race.
He’s finished in the top three in three of the last four and four of the six NextGen races here. Larson has three wins and eight top-three finishes in his last 14 starts at the track. He’s coming off a strong third-place run at Phoenix, and even if Christopher Bell wins again, Larson can score a top-three.
Ross Chastain to Win (+2400)
I hope to be eating a lot of watermelon this weekend as Ross Chastain smashes it all over the track in celebration. At this big of a number, Ross is too good to pass up. He’s been stellar here, and if he can avoid the pit road police, that’ll only help his case. Ross is one of the most recent comparison track winners, having won the Kansas fall race.
