In the UFC Apex in front of no crowd?! Sign me up! For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 104, I’ve got a winning play for Saturday’s middleweight main event. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 104
UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs Dolidze 2 (aka UFC Vegas 104)
Main Card Start Time: 7:00 PM EST (ESPN+)
As mentioned, Marvin Vettori and Roman Dolidze have fought before, back at UFC 286 in March 2023, with Vettori winning a close fight via unanimous decision. With rematches – especially ones without a massive amount of time between them – the winner of the first fight tends to win the second, as well.
So I’m going with Vettori. He does everything just a little better than Dolidze. He’s a bit better of a striker (less power, though). He’s an equal in offensive grappling but way better defensively than Dolidze. He’s a bit younger and has fought a higher level of competition, even getting a shot at UFC gold against Israel Adesanya back in 2021.
Vettori won a striking-only battle the first time he faced Dolidze. I see no reason why he can’t replicate that this Saturday.
