Another handful of teams punch their tickets to the Big Dance on Sunday as four college hoops conference tournaments reach their championship games tomorrow. For my best bet for Sunday, March 9th: College Basketball Predictions, we’re off to the Big South Championship in the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. Once and for all, let’s settle the argument – who wins in a fight, an eagle or a panther?!
Best Bet For Sunday (March 9th): College Basketball Predictions
Winthrop Eagles vs High Point Panthers
Start Time: 12:00 PM EST
The Big South Basketball Championships almost went to chalk, with the #1 seeded High Point Panthers meeting the #3 Winthrop Eagles in the finals tomorrow, after the Eagles throttled the #2 seed in the semifinals (eagles can throttle things, right?!). But I expect the Panthers to do the throttling on Sunday (panthers can definitely throttle things).
Not only was High Point three games better than Winthrop in the Big South regular season standings, but they also beat the Eagles in both their matchups this season, by 22 points in each case (consistent with their throttling). After crunching the numbers, I only came up with the line of High Point -8, but as those past two games indicate, this spread could get much wider in the Panthers’ favor. High Point covering the spread is my best bet for tomorrow.
