College Basketball Picks March 8
North Carolina +9.5 vs. Duke
One of the greatest rivalries in sports tips off at 6:30 PM ET. The Blue Devils have stolen all the headlines this season: Cooper Flagg, the number-three team in the nation, possibly the most balanced Duke team ever. On the other side of things, UNC has very quietly won six consecutive games, positioning themselves well for a possible NCAA Tournament bid.
This is probably a win, and you’re in a situation for the Tar Heels, but that’s much easier said than done against one of the best teams in the country.
I like UNC’s guard play and their ability to exploit mismatches in this one. UNC has covered the spread in their last five games, whereas Duke has covered their last six games. Something has to give, and with UNC home, I’m thinking they keep it within the number.
