It’s halftime of Super Bowl LIX! Time to get those second-half bets in while Kendrick Lamar entertains in the background. The Philadelphia Eagles lead the Kansas City Chiefs 24-0. Let’s take a Quick Look at some second-half bets for Super Bowl LIX.
The Kansas City Chiefs won the coin toss and elected to defer their choice to the second half. Kansas City will begin the second half with the ball. Both teams started slow, but the Philadelphia Eagles controlled the first half of the game scoring a touchdown in the first quarter and taking the early lead. They piled on in the second quarter, sacking Mahomes multiple times and scoring on a pick-six. A second interception late in the half inside of their own 20-yard line set the Eagles up to an AJ Brown touchdown.
Second Half Bets for Super Bowl LIX
Travis Kelce Over 40 Yards (-115)
Kelce was only targeted once in the first quarter of the game and didn’t catch the ball at all. At halftime, he has no receptions. If the Chiefs want to win this game, they have to get Kelce involved. He’s too good of a player to not get the ball, and Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes both know it. The Eagles will be fine with a bend don’t break defense in the second half, perfect for Kelce down the middle. Kelce has gone over 63 yards in 14 of his last 15 playoff games.
Saquon Barkley Over 85 Rush Yards (+100) (Currently at 31)
The Chiefs did a good job of keeping Barkley in check in the first half. With the lead, they are going to keep wearing them down with Barkley and it’s only a matter of time before he breaks a big one. Nobody has been able to contain Barkley and if the Chiefs offense can’t stay on the field the defense is going to get tired.
Second Half Bets for Super Bowl LIX
Jalen Hurts Over 175 Passing Yards (+110) (Currently at 123)
While I do think they keep wearing the Chiefs down with Barkley, they can’t abandon the passing game. Hurts has looked stellar in the first half outside of an ill-advised interception throw. Look for a good mix of rushing, passing, and a few deep shots by Hurts to get him over this number.
Player to Achieve an Octopus (+1400)
I wasn’t big on this bet coming into the game, but with the Chiefs down as badly as they are, it’s worth taking a shot on in the second half. The Chiefs need points. There’s a good chance they go for two anytime they score. Let’s see an octopus in the second half.
2nd Half Over 22.5 (-120)
There’s no way the Chiefs go down without a fight. The first half didn’t go their way but they’ll come out cool, calm, and collected. They are going to get theirs and they’ve already shown they’ve had a hard time stopping the Eagles and Philadelphia is playing too well to be contained. We’re in for fireworks in the second half.
