Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles Preview and Predictions

Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles Preview and Predictions

These two teams met all the way back in Week 1 to open the season on Friday night in a game played in Brazil. The Philadelphia Eagles won a thriller 34-29. Now, 18 weeks later they’ll meet again. There’s a lot more on the line this time, the winner moves on with hopes of hoisting the Lombardi still alive. The loser heads back to the drawing board to try and win it all next season. Let’s take a look at this Packers-Eagles preview and predictions.

The Green Bay Packers went 11-6 this season, yet that was only good enough for third place in the NFC North. That has slotted them in as the seventh and final seed in a strong NFC conference. The Packers won five of their last eight games to end the regular season but come into the game on a two-game losing streak after falling to the Vikings and Bears in the final two weeks of the season. They lost wide receiver Christian Watson to a torn ACL in week 18.

The 14-3 Philadelphia Eagles come into this one the winners of 12 of their last 13 games, the only loss in Week 17 when Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee played for an injured Jalen Hurts and lost to the Commanders 33-36. Hurts was listed as a full participant Thursday in practice and has been cleared of concussion protocol for Sunday’s game. AJ Brown didn’t practice Thursday with his knee injury. He’s expected to play Sunday but could be limited.

Jayden Reed Over 49.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-115)

Reed was both a very frustrating and rewarding fantasy player this season. When he was on, he was on. When he was off, he didn’t show up. If Green Bay wants a shot at winning this weekend, especially with Watson out. They need Jayden Reed to show up. Like he did in Week 1 when these teams last played. Reed went off with 138 yards on four catches and added a 33-yard run totaling two touchdowns on the day.

Reed has been quiet of late but did cross this number last week against the Bears and did so nine times this season. You don’t need him to put up 171 total yards as he did in Week 1, 50 yards will suffice in order to cash this one.

Philadelphia Eagles -4 (120)

The Green Bay Packers are a good young team that continues to build. This Eagles team is just too good though. They’ve been on a tear all season, and already beat this team once. The Eagles have been one of the best teams against the spread this season going 11-6 through the regular season.

The Packers on the other hand have just been 8-8-1 ATS. The Eagles have gone 6-2 ATS in their last eight games where they were favored by three or more points. The Packers will make it a game, but the Eagles close it out in the end.
