It’s a Super Bowl LVIII rematch Sunday in San Francisco. The undefeated and reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs head to Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium to take on the San Francisco 49ers. When these teams played in February, it was a thriller with the Chiefs coming out as champions by a final score of 25-22. Let’s take a look at this Chiefs-49ers preview and predictions.
The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0 on the season and coming off their early Week 6 bye week rested up. They’ve suffered a few injuries to both Rashee Rice and Isiah Pacheco, but for this juggernaut, it’s just next man up. Kareem Hunt has looked strong and their other receivers have stepped up in Rice’s absence.
San Francisco’s Super Bowl hangover has been a little worse than the Chiefs, they sit 3-3 after six games. They’ve had their own injury issues starting with Christian McCaffery who hasn’t played yet this season. Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and others have missed games as well.

Patrick Mahomes Over 239.5 Passing Yards (-115)
Patrick Mahomes lives for the spotlight. Give him a week off to prepare, make it a Super Bowl rematch, and make him the underdog. This is where Patrick shines. He’s also been pretty good against San Francisco the last few times the teams have matched up.
Just a reminder that Mahomes did this the first time he played the 49ers 😮

In the Super Bowl Mahomes tossed for 333 yards against them. In their previous meeting in 2022 he threw for 423 yards. Mahomes has gone over this total in three of the Chiefs five games already this season including the last two games.
Kansas City Chiefs +2 (-110)
So, you’re telling me you get the defending Super Bowl Champions. Andy Reid off a bye, Patrick Mahomes off a bye. One of two undefeated teams, and a head coach in Reid who’s 4-0 against Kyle Shanahan as the underdog this week? Sign me up. There really isn’t more to argue on this bet, don’t overthink it and play the Chiefs here.
