Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints Preview and Predictions

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints Preview and Predictions

A NFC South battle takes place in the ‘Big Easy’ between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints. This will be the Buccaneers’ second straight divisional matchup after dropping a thrilling overtime game to the Falcons in Week 5. The big story in this game will be the Saints without Derek Carr. Spencer Rattler will get the start for the Saints in this game. Below are my Buccaneers at Saints Preview and Predictions.

As I mentioned above, the Saints will be without starting quarterback Derek Carr who suffered an oblique injury on Monday Night Football against the Chiefs. Spencer Rattler gets the start for the Saints. Additionally, as of Thursday, the Saints did not have Taysom Hill and Center/Guard Cesar Ruiz practicing. Of note, Alvin Kamara has been a limited participant in practice as of Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Buccaneers are coming into this game off an overtime loss. They too are dealing with plenty of injuries on the offensive side. Wide receivers Jalen McMillan and Trey Palmer are possibly missing this game. Alongside Rachaad White is dealing with a foot injury and did not practice on Friday.

Best Bets

The question in this game becomes can Spencer Rattler not get rattled? (Pun Intended!) The Buccaneers come into this game with a huge rest advantage as they played on Thursday Night in Week 5. Meanwhile, the Saints are on a short week as they played on Monday Night Football. Since the 2022 season, the Buccaneers coming off a loss and playing a division game are 5-2 SU and 2-5 ATS.

I believe the Buccaneers are the public side of the week in this game. Outside of three points, I like the Saints to cover this game and be on the contrarian side. The Buccaneers are dealing with too many injuries and if the Saints can buckle down on defense I believe they can hang in this game. Lastly, since the 2018 season, when these two teams match up, the Buccaneers are just 3-8 ATS and 8-3 to the Under.

Best Bet: Saints +3.5 and Under 41.5

Mike Evans Under 4.5 Receptions

We know about the battle between Marshon Lattimore and Mike Evans and it could be on full display this week. Mike Evans has struggled against the Saints in his career in particular accumulating receptions. In fact, Evans has less than five receptions against the Saints in 11 straight games! I believe the Saints will limit Evans in this game. I like the Under 4.5 Receptions.
