Buffalo Bills at New York Jets Preview and Predictions

The New York Jets made headlines this week with the firing of head coach Robert Saleh. The news came after the New York Jets dropped their game in Week 5 against the Vikings in London. Meanwhile, the Bills come into this week with Josh Allen having his worst game from an efficiency standpoint against the Texans in Week 5. The Bills are dealing with multiple injuries at the skill positions. Below are my preview and predictions Bills at Jets on Monday Night Football.

As I mentioned above, the storyline this week has been the coaching change for the Jets. The Jets named former Quarterbacks Coach/Passing Game Coordinator Jeff Ulbrich to the head coaching position. Outside of the coaching news, the Jets do come into this game relatively healthy. Aaron Rodgers did suffer an ankle injury in Week 5 but nothing of significance.

Meanwhile, the Bills are coming off a loss against the Texans where Josh Allen was only 9/30 for 131 passing yards. The Bills are dealing with two key injuries on the offense. First, James Cook is dealing with a toe injury and has not practiced all week. Additionally, Khalil Shakir who missed last week continues to miss practice with an ankle injury. On the defensive side, the Bills will be without Ed Oliver who is dealing with a hamstring injury.

Best Bets

This is a huge game for the New York Jets after the firing of Robert Saleh. Can we imagine what the conversations will be if the Jets lose this game on Primetime after firing their head coach? However, the injury concerns are huge for me in this game for the Bills. As I mentioned above, the Bills could be without both running back James Cook and their #1 receiver Khalil Shakir.

Since the 2016 season, division home dogs on Monday Night Football are 14-8-3 ATS (63.6%). Further, the Under has been a very profitable angle when the home team is in an underdog role. In fact, since 2020, home underdogs on Monday Night Football the Under is 26-10-1 and since 2022, 14-2-1 to the Under!

Breece Hall Over 12.5 Rush Attempts

The New York Jets come into this game where a new playcaller, Todd Downing. Downing was the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans during the 2021-2022 season. In that year Downing led the Titans to a top-five rushing offense who did not have Derrick Henry for nine games. Furthermore, running backs against the Bills are running early and often. In fact, opposing teams are averaging 23 rush attempts per game.

Over the last two weeks, Rodgers has thrown the football 96 times. He also comes into this game with a minor ankle injury. If there was ever a game for Breece Hall to have a big game, it would be on Monday Night Football against the Bills.
