Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – June 26
Aaron Judge – Higher than 0.5 Home Runs
Judge has been swinging a white hot bat as of late. He’s homered in two of his last three games and four of his last seven. The weather forecast, albeit a bit rainy, calls for wind going to left at 10 miles per hour tonight in New York. Those two things together are a dangerous combination.
Things look even better for the big man in pinstripes when you consider the pitching matchup. He’s a career 5-for-12 (.417) against Sean Manaea lifetime. Two of those five hits have been home runs already. That gives us a .917 slugging percentage.
Simeon Woods Richardson – Lower than 5.0 Hits Allowed
Woods Richardson has been good so far for the Twins this year. The Minnesota rookie is porting just a 1.14 WHIP this season and a 3.26 ERA. Over the last eight games, he’s stayed below this projection in seven of them – averaging just 3.38 hits per game in that span. The Diamondbacks are a ton ten team in terms of hits this year with 8.46 a game, which could give Woods Richardson some issues. However, they’re on a bit of a skid, snagging just 5.33 hits per game over the last three.
Bryan Reynolds – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
While some are a bit more pessimistic about it, I’m in on this Bryan Reynolds hit streak. He ripped a pair of hits on Tuesday, including a home run, bringing his streak up to 22 games. More imporantly for this projection, that streak has been filled with extra bases. He is slugging .663 over that streak and has an extra base hit in six of his last eight games. He’s homered off of Graham Ashcraft in the past and wouldn’t be surprised to see him get this projection in one swing.
