Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – June 20
Jose Ramirez – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
Daddy Ramirez is a thing we need to keep an eye on. Since coming back from the birth of his third child, he’s been on a tear. In those two games, he’s recorded at least two hit, at least one run, and at least one RBI. It isn’t exactly that he was cold before, but he seems to be on fire now.
To make matters even better, he has a good history of extra-base hits against Thursday’s starter. He has six hits off of Luis Castillo in his career. Three of them are homers and two are triples – which leads to a .826 slugging percentage head-to-head. Two bases should be well within his grasp.
Alex Bregman – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
After having a rough start to the year, Bregman is finding his stride. He hit just .218 in April and then a slight uptick to .221 in May. However, June has been his month. He’s hitting .322 this month with a .885 slugging percentage. He has a hit in all but one game over the course of the month. That one game, which took place in Detroit on Sunday, snapped a 16-game hitting streak. I like his chance to grab a couple more hits here against Chris Flexen.
Keaton Winn – Higher than 1.5 Walks Allowed
This has become the standard for Winn to the point where I question why the projection is so low. He has walked two or more in each of his last three starts and in four of his last five. St. Louis isn’t leading the league in walks, but they are averaging 2.99 per game at this stage. They’re walking even more at home, which gives me faith that Winn will issue a couple of freebies here.
