Nicknamed “The Fastest Short Track on the Planet” Iowa’s D-shaped oval will quickly remind you of Richmond Raceway. Banked at just 10 degrees on the front stretch, four degrees on the backstretch, and 12-14 degrees in the corners, it’ll race a lot like World Wide Technologies Raceway from two weeks ago in St Louis. For fantasy purposes, WWT, Richmond, Phoenix, and even New Hampshire from last week are all comparable tracks you can look at. Let’s take a look at my Iowa Corn 350 Underdog Fantasy plays.
Underdog Fantasy is the easiest place to play fantasy sports. Playing their Pick’em game is as simple as selecting higher or lower on player stats like points, rebounds, assists, or, in this case, better or worse finishing position. Make entries of all racing, or mix and match across your other favorite sports. You can win up to 100 times your money, and it’s a ton of fun.

NASCAR Fantasy Picks: Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway Underdog Fantasy
Denny Hamlin Better Than 6.5 Finishing Position
Denny Hamlin had bad luck last week with an engine expiring on lap two. Before that, Hamlin had five straight top-five finishes, six if you want to toss in the All-Star race. At Gateway, Hamlin scored second place after late troubles from Bell and Blaney. He won at Richmond and finished 11th at Phoenix but did lead 68 laps that day.
This track sets up perfectly for Toyota and Hamlin. I’m tossing out last week and thinking his top-five streak continues. Even better, he only needs a top-six finish for this fantasy number.
Brad Keselowski Better Than 9.5 Finishing Position
From my friends at Ifantasyrace.com’s best drivers at shorter-flat tracks, ranked by average finish since 2023, Brad Keselowski is fifth best, with an average 10.8 finishing position.
Even better than that, at Gateway, Brad finished third. At Richmond, it was eighth place, and at Phoenix, Keselowski scored fourth place. That makes him three for three at comparable tracks in 2024 of better than 9.5 with an average finish of 5.0.
Much like Hamlin, if you take out last week’s road course, Keselowski is on a three-race top-three streak and has finished top three in five of the last eight races. Things are clicking for Brad, Ford, and Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing right now.
Kyle Larson Better Than 6.5 Finishing Position
While Chevy and Larson struggled a bit at Gateway and Phoenix, Richmond is a track that compares to Iowa Speedway as well. At Richmond, Larson led 144 laps and finished in third place. So, if Iowa leans a little more like Richmond, this could play into his favor.
The other thing with Larson is that you are getting the best driver in the world when he’s coming off winning a race at home in California. Larson was also the Chevrolet driver who tire tested here just a few weeks ago.
We saw the advantage that gave Joey Logano, North Wilkesboro, and even Truex, Buescher, and Chastain last week at Sonoma. Give the best driver and crew chief in the garage extra time to prep, then give him to us at 6.5. Sign me up.
Joey Logano Better Than 8.5 Finishing Position
I often joke on the NASCAR Gambling Podcast that Logano is the hardest driver in the garage to predict on a week-to-week basis. While that may be true, there are a few things we know about Joey. He’s damn good on anything new to the Cup Series, and he’s good on shorter, flatter tracks.
Back to the Ifantasyrace.com rankings, Logano checks in at third on the list with an average finish of 9.6. Two weeks ago at Gateway, it was a fifth-place finish, and Logano dominated the All-Star race at a similar style track, and one that was recently repaved.
Logano on new things, plus Logano on a short-flat sounds like the winning combination you need this week for your NASCAR picks on Underdog Fantasy.
