Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – May 26

Ozzie Albies – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases

Albies is on a nice streak as of late. He has a hit in 10 of his last 12 games, and has squeezed a few multiple hits games in there as well as some extra-base hits. Niow he’ll get a favorable matchup with Martin Perez on the hill. The tow have only faced four times, but Albies has a hit in every head-to-head appearance. Half of the hits are home runs as well, so there’s a lot of hope that he’ll handle this total bases projection early.

Alex Bregman – Lower than 1.5 Total Bases

I’m not sure there’s someone in the Astros lineup that has been quite as disappointing as Bregman. He is only hitting .204 on the year and has just two hits and three total bases over the last seven games. During the month of May, he’s hitting just .191. He has some positive histiry with Oakland starter Aaron Brooks in the past, which I think is driving up this projection. However, that’s just not enough for me to trust his bat right now.

Garrett Crochet – Higher than 29.5 Fantasy Points

Crochet has given us 21 straight innings of scoreless stuff and three straight appearances with no earned runs allowed. That’s allowed him to easily clear this projection three appearances in a row. If that’s not enough to trust him, take a look at the uptick in strikeouts for him. He’s averaging 7.0 per game over that three game stretch. Baltimore is striking out 8.04 times per game right now, and that should give him multiple avenues to reach this projection.
