NASCAR heads to the Midwest this week to take on the Kansas Speedway. The 1.5-mile track in Kansas City, Kansas, has provided some of the most exciting racing in the NextGen car era. Let’s take a look at some of the best Underdog Fantasy picks for the NASCAR Cup Series AdventHealth 400 this Sunday.

NASCAR AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway Underdog Fantasy Picks
Underdog Fantasy is the easiest place to play fantasy sports. Playing their Pick’em game is as simple as selecting higher or lower on player stats like points, rebounds, assists, or, in this case, better or worse finishing position. Make entries of all racing, or mix and match across your other favorite sports. You can win up to 100 times your money, and it’s a ton of fun. Underdog is available in 30+ states, including California, Texas, and even Canada
Alex Bowman to Finish Better Than 10.5
Alex Bowman is three for three (he missed last spring’s race due to injury) in the NextGen era, finishing inside the top 10 at Kansas Speedway. Last week at Dover Motor Speedway, Bowman showed a lot of speed during the race before settling for an eighth-place finish. There’s been a lot of talk about Bowman being on the “hot seat” of feeling pressure with all three teammates winning this season. Bowman, however, has quietly had a strong season.
In 11 Cup Series races in 2024, Bowman has finished inside the top eight in six of them and currently sits ninth in the points standings. You don’t need him to show up and beat everyone this week to hit this fantasy play; just finish 10th or better, and Bowman should be able to do that.
Tyler Reddick to Finish Better Than 5.0
The #45 23XI Racing car has won three of four NextGen races at Kansas Speedway. It’s safe to say this team knows a thing or two about winning at Kansas Speedway. Tyler Reddick has led in all four of those races, even in the #8 Richard Childress Racing car he drove prior to coming to 23XI. Reddick is the most recent winner at Kansas Speedway, winning the fall 2023 race here.
Reddick has had speed at the two other non-Superspeedway 1.5-mile tracks the series has been to in 2024. He finished fourth at Texas, leading 37 laps and arguably having the best car before a slow pit stop cost him. He was second place at Las Vegas, three more laps and he may have passed Kyle Larson for the win.
Denny Hamlin to Finish Better Than 4.5
This is probably my favorite one on the board. Last week’s winner has three wins on the season already and is having a great season overall. Not only does he have positive momentum in his favor, but now they head to one of his best tracks.
Hamlin has been to victory lane in four straight races NASCAR at Kansas Speedway. Three of those times were as the owner of the aforementioned #45 car, but hey, don’t you think he gets that info?
In his recent finishes at Kansas last fall, he was leading before a late restart allowed Reddick to win, with Denny finishing second. He won last spring in a last-lap pass on Kyle Larson. Finished second to his driver Bubba Wallace in the fall of 2022 and fourth that spring in the first NextGen race at the track.
Hamlin has three wins at Kansas and nine top-five finishes in his last 13 starts here. Track history plus current form: I’ll be playing this in a lot of my Underdog NASCAR Fantasy lineups this week.
Ty Gibbs to Finish Better Than 8.5
Ty Gibbs’ sophomore season started off with a bang. The 21-year-old had a streak of four top-10 finishes from Las Vegas through COTA before cooling off at the short tracks. We’re back to an intermediate here, and Gibbs is coming off a 10th-place run at Dover.
If you’ve noticed a trend in this article, it’s all about Toyotas. They’ve won four in a row at Kansas and seven of the last nine at the track. Gibbs ran 14th here in the fall, but in 2024 has looked like a new, more advanced driver. I think he builds on that and his 10th place last week and has a run comparable to Las Vegas where he finished fifth.
