Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – May 1

Jose Ramirez – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases

Jose Ramirez hasn’t been particularly hot as of late. He hasn’t hit this mark in the last four games. However, prior to that, he had hit the mark in four games in a row. Plus, he has a great history against Wednesday’s starter Justin Verlander. On his career, he’s 12-for-37 (.324) and he has six extra-base hits in that span. Three of those are doubles and the other three are homers, which comes out to a .649 slugging percentage.

Byron Buxton – Higher than 8.5 Fantasy Points

Speaking of hitters with hot streaks against pitchers, Buxton has the pleasure of running into Chris Flexen again on Wednesday. In eight career at-bats, he has six hits and five of them are for extra bases. That comes out to a 1.875 slugging percentage. Having scored a run in three straight games and having these head-to-head numbers should make this projection easy money.

Chris Sale – Higher than 7.0 Strikeouts

Chris Sale has looked like his old self for the Braves this year. His slider looks abosolutely unhittable and he appears to be placing it wherever he wants. He’ll now step up as the stopped to a rare two-game losing streak for the Braves. In doing so, he’ll get a Seattle offense that leads the majors in strikeouts (10.37 a game). They’ve also been a touch worse over the last three games 12.67 per game.
