Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – April 25
Donovan Mitchell – Higher than 7.0 First Quarter Points
The games in this series have been generally low-scoring, but that doesn’t mean that Mitchell hasn’t been getting after it. In particular, he’s been stellar in the first quarter. In both games, he hit two three-pointers in the first quarter. He’s also averaging 11 points per game over that span. So, between the amount of shots he’s taking and the share of points he’s already getting, it’s hard to imagine him coming in under this projection.
Mitchell Robinson – Lower than 4.5 Points
In game one of this series, Robinson got 30 minutes of burn. In that time, he managed 8 points and handled this projection easily. However, in the next game, he saw a huge downtick in production and game time.
He took just two foul shots and nothing from the field. We went down to just 18 minutes and scored only 1 point. I think game two represents a bit more of the usual for this series, and we see him barely get any attempts.
D’Angelo Russell – Higher than 3.5 First Quarter Points
This number is likely being driven down by the fact that Russell ended the regular season by coming up short in three straight games. It’s been a different story early in these playoffs. He not only has gone higher than 3.5 in each first quarter but he’s gone way higher. Russell scored six in the first game of the series.
He followed up that act with 3 three-pointers in the first quarter. He even scored the Lakers’ first 6 points in game two. I expect him to get plenty of early deep attempts here, too.
