Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – April 21
Luka Doncic – Higher than 8.5 Rebounds
Doncic ended this regular season hitting this projection in a dozen straight games. Moreover, he also has a tendency to get on the boards more in the playoffs. Last postseason (which was 2022 for him) he went over this mark in the first four games. He also did in ten of the first twelve postseason games that year. Now he’ll be facing the Clipper who have given up more rebounds than any team over their last three games (60.0 per game in that span).
Tyler Herro – Higher than 23.5 Points
Without Jimmy Butler around, Tyler Herro has become one of the most important people for the Heat. In each of the last two games, he’s gone for 25 and 24 respectively. The Celtics are one of the best defensive teams out there, but I expect that means the Heat will be down and attempting to shoot themselves back into a game. If that’s the case, their reliance on Herro will be heavy.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Higher than 8.5 1st Quarter Points
Gilgeous-Alexander took a big step forward the past two seasons – going from a solid player to a two-time All-Star and regular MVP candidate. The team also took a leap forward this season going from a fringe playoff team to the number 1 seed in the West. Now, I expect Gilgeous-Alexander to come out and act like the best player on perhaps the best team.
In addition to like the intention here, he’s also beat this projection in three of his last four games. In the one game he missed it, he was just one point short.
