Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – April 19
Bobby Witt Jr. – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
Bobby Witt Jr. is off to a hot start this year. He’s hitting .321 so far this year and is slugging .628. That’s helped him to beat this projection in three of his last five games and four of his last seven. Plus, he’ll have the pleasure of facing Dean Kramer, who he is 3-for-6 against with a home run. All of that should easily add up to a couple of bases.
Bryan Rocchio – Lower than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
I know the Guardians have the fortunate situation of getting to face the Athletics, but that isn’t enough for me to think Rocchio is about to bust out. Over his last last six games, he has a combined two hits, one run and one RBI. That means on average he is coming out to 0.5 hits + runs + RBIs per game. He’s currently hitting .212 and that’s with a hot start.
Spencer Turnbull – Lower than 1.5 Earned Runs Allowed
This is far less of a play on Turnbull and far more of a fade of the White Sox. Their offense has been awful this season. They’re dead last in runs per game at 2.11. That’s their average over a 9 inning span. I don’t think Turnbull is in any danger of going all 9, which means the White Sox would have to be active early. They haven’t done that all year, so there’s no reason to think they should now.
