Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – April 7

Chris Sale – Higher than 5.5 Strikeouts

Sale comes into this one after a solid debut with the Braves where he struck out 7 Phillies. This Diamondbacks’ team strikes out far less than the Phillies, which is why this projection comes in where it does. However, Sale has had a lot success against members of this Arizona squad. In 20 career at bats, he’s struck out Lourdes Gurriel Jr. 7 times. He’s struck out Eugenio Suarez in 3 of 4 at bats. Add in that Ketel Marte is just 1-for-9 off of him and he should have a long outing with plenty of strikeouts.

Jose Altuve – Higher than 0.5 Runs

Altuve has had a lot of prior success against Dane Dunning in the past. In 15 career plate appearances, he’s reached base in 9 of them. That should give him ample opportunity to cross home plate at some point. He could even do it himself with the longball. 2 of those prior at bats were home runs, which would do the trick here.

Seiya Suzuki – Higher than 0.5 Singles

Suzuki does not yet have a single in the two games against the Dodgers, but prior to this series, he was on fire. He had at least one in the five previous games leading up to welcoming Los Angeles to town. Gavin Stone isn’t a easy matchup per se, but he’s easier than some of the other looks Suzuki has had in the series.
