It appears, at least this week, that the days of blindly playing NBA Unders are over. So far this week (small sample size, yes) it’s about 50-50 for an Under to hit. So I’ll be a bit more cautious with my Total plays. Here are my NBA picks for March 21st. Go here for the latest NBA odds.

NBA Picks March 21st
Sacramento Kings vs. Washington Wizards

Spread: Kings -7.5
Total: 239.5
And after saying all of that, I’m taking an Under with my very first play. I have to for this Sacramento Kings vs Washington Wizards game – 239.5 is too high of a Total. Even if scoring wasn’t down a bit it is too high of a Total.
For the season, the Kings and the Wizards would be expected to score around 232 for this game, which is well below 239.5. But based on their last five games, that number goes way down to 222. Plus this is the second night of a back-to-back on the road for the Kings.
Best Bet: Kings/Wizards Under 239.5 (-104)
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Orlando Magic
Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Spread: Pelicans -2.5
Total: 212.5
Some Totals, however, have been adjusted far too low, even with scoring down. One, for instance, would be this game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Orlando Magic.
New Orleans is a middle-of-the-pack scoring team; Orlando is near the bottom of the league. Still, I think 212.5 points is too low of a Total. For the season the two teams combine for 227 per game; based on the last five games that number drops a little bit, to 224. So let’s grab an Over here.
Best Bet: Pelicans/Magic Over 212.5 (-110)
