Bruce Thornton (Ohio State) Higher Than 18.5 Points+Assists

Ohio State point guard Bruce Thornton came into this one averaging 16.1 points and 3.5 assists per game. Thornton has managed to clear 18.5 PA in five of his last seven games. His only misses were against Rutgers and Michigan State.

Thornton and the Buckeyes get Iowa in the second round of the Big Ten conference tournament. Thornton cleared 18.5 points and assists in his only match-up against the Hawkeyes this year in Iowa. This is a neutral site game and Thornton should play 35+ minutes. He’ll clear the number against an Iowa team that is known for the occasional defensive lapse.

Darrion Trammell (San Diego State) Higher Than 4.5 Assists

Let’s keep it with point guards. Darrion Trammell is the straw that stirs the drink that is the San Diego Aztecs offense. He doesn’t care if he scores a point.

Trammell is coming into this match-up averaging only 3.2 assists per game on the year. Why take the higher number? Trammell has cleared 4.5 assists in each of his last four games. That streak includes a seven-assist game against the same UNLV team he’s playing against.

Trammel doesn’t really get into foul trouble, and his usage rate has been ramping up in February and March. He’ll be running the Aztecs offense and distributing for the majority of the game. Make sure you’ve got Trammell going higher in your Underdog Fantasy college basketball pick’em entry for March 14.

Jaylen Forbes (Tulane) Lower Than 17.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists

Jaylen Forbes comes into the AAC conference tournament averaging 14.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.

Why are we looking to go lower on Forbes here? First, he’s gone lower than 17.5 PRA in three of his last five games. However, he gets to start the tournament against North Texas and their boa constrictor defense.

Forbes played North Texas on January 6th and only managed 10 PRA. He got them again on February 28th and only racked up 14 PRA.

Forbes struggles against North Texas, and the number is looking a little high here. Look to go lower on Forbes’ PRA on March 14.
