Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – March 14
Jayson Tatum – Higher than 30.5 Points
This play is less about what Tatum can do against the Suns, and more about what won’t be around him. Jaylen Brown is reported to be questionable for the game and Kristaps Porzingis is scheduled to be out completely. With the other two big scorers out, I expect Tatum to have to pick up the slack. He did on Tuesday to the tune of 38 points. With 29 against the Suns last week with a healthy Brown – you have to imagine he can beat this projection.
Kevin Durant – Higher than 27.5 Points
On the other side of that Celtics/Suns game is Kevin Durant. He went for 45 in their last matchup. Granted that game was without Devin Booker, but Durant’s recent scoring run supports the ‘higher than’ play here as well. He’s gone for at least 35 in each of the last four games, and is averaging 38 per game in that span.
Jalen Green – Lower than 6.5 1st Quarter Points
I dont’ quite know how they came to this projection on Green, but it appears to be a gift. He’s averaging well under this number on the year at just 5.3 first quarter points per game. His recent efforts haven’t helped that at all. He’s been lower than this mark in each of his last three games while averaging just 3.7 per game. He’s failed to make the projection in eight of his last twelve, and I think he gets off to another rocky start here too.
