This is the last Saturday of the year that has regular season games left. We still get the next week of conference tournament action, and we get the glory of the National Championship Tournament, but we’re rapidly running out of games. A slate like this has a lot of games that scream ‘Stay-Away,’ but there are a lot of quality numbers to play. Let’s dive into my Underdog Fantasy college basketball picks for March 9!

Underdog Fantasy College Basketball Picks March 9
Matthew Dewoskin Underdog Fantasy College Basketball Pick Em Record (Est 3/1/2024)
All Pick Em Selections: 14-9-0 (60.8%)
Spicy Multiplier Picks: 0-0 (0%)
Perfect 3-0 Pick Em Entries: 1-7 (-0.2 units)
Dallin Hall (BYU) Lower Than 20.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists
It doesn’t make sense for Dallin Hall’s PRA to be this high. Hall averages 9.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. However, when he’s in Provo, he’s only averaged 8.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists. His usage rate actually dips at home, and his numbers reflect it.
Hall has gone under 20.5 PRA in only three of his last eight. He did go over on the road at Oklahoma State, but he tied his season high in minutes played. He’s unlikely to go over 30 minutes at home on Senior Night in Provo. Look for Hall to go under a stinky PRA number in your Underdog Fantasy pick’em entry.
Jarod Lucas (Nevada) Higher Than 2.5 3-Pointers Made – SPICY
Jarod Lucas gets UNLV on Senior Night in Reno. If Nevada wins this, they may win a share of the regular season conference championship in the Mountain West. They do need a little help, but a win would help.
Lucas has made more than 2.5 threes in four of his last six games. He also shoots 42.6% in Reno. Away from Reno, he’s only 36.9% from beyond the arc. Lucas has also faced the Rebs in Las Vegas earlier in the year. He went 4-for-10 from three-point land.
PRA and points for Lucas are also in play if you want to make your Underdog Fantasy entry even spicier.
Donovan Dent (New Mexico) Higher Than 4.5 Assists
This is another number that doesn’t make a lot of sense. Donovan Dent is averaging 5.6 assists per game this year.
He’s actually been better on the road than at home. Dent hands out 5.5 assists at The Pit and 5.7 assists when he goes on the road.
Dent also racked up 14 assists against Utah State on January 16th. He’s also gone higher than 4.5 assists in three straight games and four of his last six.
New Mexico has a chance to cause chaos in the Mountain West Conference. If they can knock off Utah State, there could be a three-way tie at the top of the conference.
Look for the Lobos to play their regulars against the Aggies, and Dent should rack up more than 4.5 assists in Logan.
