The NFL Combine is underway in Indianapolis. On Saturday, the quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers will record their 40-yard dash times. It is one of the most popular and watched contests at the NFL Combine. Luckily for us, Underdog has faster and slower pick ’em available! Here are my NFL Combine Underdog picks for quarterback, running Back, and wide receiver!

NFL Combine Underdog Picks: Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver
Jayden Daniels Quarterback, LSU – 4.51 Second 40 Time
The 6-4 210 lbs quarterback is considered among most as one of the top three overall picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Daniels’ college career started at Arizona State, but after transferring to LSU, a star broke out. Daniels’ dual-threat ability led him to win the Heisman trophy after the 2023 season.
Daniels ran a 4.58 40-yard dash back in high school in 2018. At Arizona State, he reportedly recorded a 4.5 time on the 40-yard dash there. Anthony Richardson broke the quarterback record last year by running a 4.43 40-yard time.
Will Daniels break Richardson’s record? Likely not. However, I do think he can get close.
Pick: Faster Than 4.51 Seconds
Rome Odunze Wide Receiver, Washington – 4.4 Second 40 time
Odunze checks in at 6-3 215 pounds. Odunze is seen by some as high as the second wide receiver off the board, maybe at pick number five or six. His stats on the way to Washington’s national title game appearance speak for themselves.
If Odunze shows up on Saturday and sets a blazing pace, it’ll only increase fans’ excitement for him to save their favorite team.
Rome Odunze made an appearance on Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk, where he mentioned that running a sub 4.4 is his goal this weekend in Indianapolis. Washington reported Odunze running a 4.34 40-yard dash last off-season. I will take Odunze’s word that he’s shooting for that sub 4.4.
Pick: Faster Than 4.4 Seconds
Will Shipley Running Back, Clemson – 4.43 Second 40 Time
The 2024 running back class for the NFL Draft is lacking a little bit of star power. The 5-11 210 lbs back hopes to be one of the first running backs taken in the Draft. After a productive 2021 and 2022 season, Shirley’s 2023 was held up by injury. Shipley struggled to play throughout the season and injured his knee in the bowl game.
In 2021, Shipley was clocked at 4.42 in the 40-yard dash. However, is he back up to full speed after all these injuries? My money doesn’t think so.
Pick: Slower Than 4.43 Seconds
Xavier Legette Wide Receiver, South Carolina – 4.37 Second 40 Time
The speedy Legette has the potential to be one of the fastest guys to run a 40-yard dash this weekend. The DK Metcalf comparisons are flying with Legette due to his incredible size at 6-3 227 lbs and his Tyreek Hill-type speed.
Legette has been officially clocked at 4.3 seconds before, and South Carolina claims he ran a 4.29 40-yard dash last season. Xavier is my favorite Underdog play on the board this week.

Blake Corum Running Back, Michigan – 4.47 Second 40 Time
The national champion is another running back hoping to be taken earlier rather than later. The 23-year-old checks in at only 5-8, weighing 214 pounds. Corum’s speed is nothing to sneeze at.
He posted a 4.4 second time in high school. One of the knocks on Corum is his acceleration. Once Corum gets rolling, he’s fast, but will he get rolling fast enough to hit this time on Saturday?
Pick: Slower Than 4.47 Seconds
