Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – March 1
Cade Cunningham – Lower than 23.5 Points
I almost went the other way with this pick, as Cade Cunningham has been on a bit of a heater. The Detroit Piston guard has topped this 23.5-point mark in four straight games. However, he’s up against the second-stingiest defense in the NBA tomorrow night – the Cleveland Cavaliers. While the Cavs might be without Donovan Mitchell for tomorrow’s game, he’s no defensive stalwart anyhow.
Jalen Duran – Lower than 0.5 Double Doubles
Let’s keep fading Detroit players, shall we? It’s a winning strategy. Jalen Duran, like Cade Cunningham, is on a nice roll currently, with double-doubles in four straight games. He’s even averaging one for the season – 14.0 ppg and 12.0 rpg. However, Cleveland has a twin-tower duo in Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen who make Cleveland one of the hardest teams to rebound against in the NBA.
Luka Doncic – Lower than 32.5 Points
Fading Luka Doncic, on the other hand, is normally a losing proposition. However, I think a 32.5-point projection for him for Friday’s game in Boston is too high. The Celtics are one of the top defensive units in the NBA, with lockdown defenders at the guard position. And Luka has only topped 32.5 points in a game three times in the past eight games.
