Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – February 27
Jalen Williams – Lower than 19.5 Points
Jalen Williams has gone for 22 and 24 in his last two games. In addition, he’ll be up against the 26th ranked defense in San Antonio on Thursday. The Thunder also ripped apart the Spurs in their two games, scoring 123 and 140 respectively. All this would seem like it would favor the sophomore guard to clear this projection easily.
However, the stylistic matchup in this game is a nightmare for Williams. The Spurs have tons of length at the big positions and Williams is small for a guy who serves as a forward for the Thunder. It has shown in his two games against the Spurs this year with a 11 and 13 point performance.
Steph Curry – Lower than 6.0 First Quarter Points
In addition to having a few games with lower point totals, Steph has really cooled off in the first quarter. He’s averaging 5.8 points per game in the first quarter, but the last seven games have clearly dragged that down. In that span he’s only cleared this number once. In fact, in the last three games, he’s combined for just six points total.
Jalen Brunson – Higher than 2.5 Three-Pointers Made
Jalen Brunson is going to have the attempts he needs to clear this mark without issue. In his last four games, he’s taken at least eight 3-pointers in three of them (with one flukey game against the 76ers). He’s also coming off of games where he took eleven and nine attempts from behind the arc. Now he’ll be facing the Warriors who have had the 8th highest number of 3-point attempts against them per game. We’ll just need about a third of them to fall here for this to get the job done.
