We head east for the 2024 Florida Swing… Personally, I’ve had enough of the West Coast swing with a ton of bad beats and very close calls, so I am ready to move on.
New sponsor ahead of this year’s Cognizant Classic, which is what we usually see as the Honda Classic. Besides that, everything will remain the same, except hole number ten being pushed back a few yards and playing as a par 5. The formula remains the same for PGA National.
Hit the fairways, be accurate into greens, and most importantly… AVOID THE WATER. Double bogeys are lurking on nearly every hole, which could derail your entire event. Bogey avoidance and patience are key. Let’s take a look at the best plays in each price range for the 2024 Cognizant Classic.

2024 Cognizant Classic: Best DFS Plays By Range
Upper Range
Rory McIlroy $12,200
Rory McIlroy is playing poorly to start his 2024 PGA season, which is great for the DFS streets. Everyone will skip right over his name at the top of the board and skip right to the Henleys’ and Postons’ of the world. Don’t get me wrong, they are probably great plays, but they will be much more owned than Rory. He has won here in the past and finished T2 another time.
The time off should be good for him, as he stated that he “was close” in his Genesis Interviews. Now he is back home and playing an event in his backyard.
Rory can turn it on at any time. I am not too worried about the recent form, and he should be a great click-click at the top of the 2024 Cognizant Classic DFS Board.
Bezuidenhout $7,600
C Bez has made both cuts in his two years at PGA National. He provides a very safe style of play for this style of golf. Bez is very accurate off the tee and gives you that middle-of-the-green, two-putt equity, which will fare well here.
Getting a 6/6 lineup is very tough with all the water and volatility out here, but Bez should be a safe add to make the cut and has some top 10 upside.
6K Range
Chan Kim $6,200
Chan Kim is a golfer who flashes in bunches, and we just saw him have a nice week in Mexico. His T8 finish resulted in strokes gained in every category for the first time in his young PGA Tour career.
Last year, Kim won in back-to-back weeks on the Korn Ferry Tour, which tells me we need to grab him while he is hot. At 6.2k, he should be a great cheap selection to make it through the cut and possibly finish inside the top 20. Making the cut is not an easy task at PGA National because there is so much danger lurking.
Let’s take a stab at a cheap golfer who just showed great signs.
