Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – February 26
Jalen Brunson – Higher than 31.5 Points
I’m going to keep working on this Jalen Brunson puzzle until I solve it. I’ve gotten the higher or lower on his points wrong in two straight columns, but I’m no quitter. He’s gone higher than 31.5 points in his last game and two of his last four games. Not a huge amount, true. But he’s playing the hapless Detroit Pistons tomorrow, so let’s take a swing at higher than 31.5 points. If I miss, then it’s three strikes, I’m out of the Jalen Brunson business.
Jaden Ivey – Lower than 3.0 Rebounds
Three rebounds isn’t a heck of a lot of a guy who normally plays over 30 minutes a night such as Jaden Ivey does. However, he’s been struggling to clear this low hurdle, despite averaging 3.6 boards per game on the season. He’s averaging right at the three rebounds per night clip for February, but he got no boards in his last game, and two in the game before that. In his last five games, he’s been lower than three rebounds in four of them, and in the fifth, he got exactly three rebounds.
Jalen Duren – Higher than 0.5 Double Doubles
If Jaden Ivey isn’t grabbing rebounds for the Detroit Pistons, that means they’ll be up for grabs for his teammate, Jalen Duran. The big man is averaging a double-double on the season – 14.0 ppg and 12.0 rpg – and has double-doubles in back-to-back games. With Detroit’s opponent on Monday, the New York Knicks, missing OG Anunoby, Julius Randle, and Mitchell Robinson, I think Duran can take advantage on the boards.
