We have a few solid matchups on this Monday evening slate. Usually, we see a ton of low majors get their time to shine, which is great. But seeing big names on a Monday night is a beautiful thing. Here are the College Basketball picks for February 19th.

College Basketball Picks February 19th
Iowa State at Houston (-9.5) (O/U 128.5)
Absolutely massive Monday night in the Big 12 as the two top teams in the conference face off in Houston. This is a rematch of the January 9th matchup in Ames which The Cyclones outlasted the Cougars at home. Iowa State got out to a massive lead and held on in the end when it got close.
Although they lost, that game made me fall in love with Houston. They were down and out of that game from the tip, and they showed unreal fight to claw back and make it close. I believe they will have something to say tonight and come out with a statement.
With that being said, double digits are a large margin to defeat a team that is very capable of winning this game. This will be a defensive battle from the jump, and points will be hard to come by. Houston is going to get the job done, but Iowa State will put up a fight and probably keep it within the number.
I prefer a total more than a side here. These two teams play defense with a vengeance, and we can truly see another rock fight. I know the total is low, but I’m going with the under.
The Pick: Under 128.5
NC Central at Norfolk State (-6.5) (O/U133.5)
Two of the top MEAC teams meet in Norfolk as the Spartans cling on to a one-game lead over NC Central, Morgan State, and Howard.
Norfolks’ only loss in conference came to NC Central back on January 8th. These two are the class of the league and will be fighting for the NCAA Tournament bid.
Year in and year out, Norfolk has a target on their back and is usually the team to knock off. This year’s NC Central bunch can really play, and they will be looking for the season sweep. I am expecting a close battle from the jump. Give me the Eagles.
