2024 NBA All-Star Game Betting Picks
West All-Stars vs. East All-Stars
Tipoff: 8:00 pm EST
Spread: West -2.5
Total: 363.5
The NBA All-Star game format is back to the traditional way of the East All-Stars vs. the West All-Stars. One most difficult things to handicap in this game is trying to figure out how many minutes the All-Stars are going to play.
We typically do not see much defense being played in these games, and the best basketball players in the world bring all the tricks and put on a show.
Typically, we see little to no defense being played in the first half of the games. Furthermore, if the game is close going to the fourth quarter I expect the defense to tighten up. I am going to get in and back out with my bet and take the first half over.
Additionally, there will be minimal defense being played, and the players will want to put on a show in the first half for the fans.
Best Bet: 1st Half Total Over 182.5
NBA All-Star Game MVP Picks
Tyrese Haliburton +800
Let’s start with the fan favorite for the local team, Tyrese Haliburton. In a game where we won’t see much defense, at least early on, I expect Haliburton to embrace the moment and put on a show for the fans.
Would I be shocked if Hali breaks the All-Star game assists record of 22 set by Magic Johnson? Absolutely not. If Haliburton has 20 points and 20 assists in this game, he will be in the running for the NBA All-Star game MVP.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander +1500
This is an opportunity for the currently second-favorite regular season MVP to let the world know who he is. Despite not being a prolific three-point shooter, SGA can get to the basket at will and knock down mid-range jump shots.
YTD Record: 37-23 (61.7%)
