Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – February 9
Jordan Poole – Lower than 14.5 Points
Jordan Poole has been surprisingly bad for the not-surprisingly-bad Washington Wizards. The expectation was that Poole would score a bunch of points on a ridiculous number of shots, but he’s only averaging 15.9 ppg on 14 shot attempts per contest. I think one of the league’s best defenses, that of the Boston Celtics, will be able to hold him under 15 in Boston on Friday night.
Scottie Barnes – Lower than 20.5 Points
First-time All-Star Scottie Barnes has had a bit of an up-and-down season for Toronto, with his scoring taking a hit once the team started making trades. He’s averaging right at the 20.5 ppg mark for February, but he hasn’t topped 20 points in three straight games. After scorching Houston for 28 points earlier this month, I think the usually solid defensive team, the Rockets, will limit him tomorrow in their return engagement.
Alperen Sengun – Lower than 24.5 Points
Let’s stick with the Houston vs Toronto game, and take yet another lower than on points, this time lower than 24.5 points for Houston’s Alperen Sengun. He’s only averaging 21.6 ppg on the season and hasn’t scored 25 or more in four straight games and six of his last seven. While Toronto’s roster is in flux – and they suck at defense – 24.5 is too high in my eyes.
