The dust is still settling from a hectic NBA trade deadline, and many of the teams involved in the wheeling and dealing are in action on Friday. I’m going to try to steer clear of them with my NBA picks for February 9th. Go here for the latest NBA odds.

NBA Picks February 9th
Atlanta Hawks vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Spread: Hawks -4.0
Total: 239.5
The Philadelphia 76ers have not punted on this season yet, as they added Buddy Hield and Cameron Payne at the trade deadline. While the newbies can’t be expected to be in action tomorrow night, I still don’t think the Atlanta Hawks should be favored by four points in Philadelphia. The visitors will be without Clint Capela and perhaps Dejounte Murray and De’Andre Hunter. Sixers plus four is the play. No play on the total – it’s lined up in the right range in my eyes.
Best Bet: 76ers +4.0 (-111)
Washington Wizards vs. Boston Celtics
Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
Spread: Celtics -16.0
Total: 238
A 16-point spread?! I know the Washington Wizards are barely an NBA team – and traded away big man Daniel Gafford – but 16 points?! With Jayson Tatum questionable tomorrow for the home team, the Boston Celtics? I’m by no means saying I expect Washington to win tomorrow in the Garden, but I think they can beat the spread for us. And I like the Under, especially if Tatum doesn’t suit up.
Best Bet: Wizards +16.0 (-110); Wizards/Celtics Under 238 (-110)
