Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – January 22
Giannis Antetokoumpo – Lower than 32.5 Points
This is the same play I made for Giannis Antetokounmpo for Saturday’s game against Detroit (except it was 31.5 for that game). He scored 31, hitting the lower than for me. Now, he gets Detroit again on Monday, and I’m taking the lower than 32.5 points. Same reasoning here – Giannis is still banged up and probably won’t have to go all out for the Bucks to beat the lowly Pistons.
Damian Lillard – Higher than 26.5 Points
Somebody has to score for Milwaukee tomorrow, so it may as well be Damian Lillard. And he shouldn’t need to play too many minutes to get us at least 27 points. After all, he scored a season-high 45 points against these very same Detroit Pistons on Saturday night. Sure, it took him 37 minutes to do it, but fewer minutes on Monday should still yield us our 27 points (I’m assuming they’ll blow out Detroit and Dame will be able to take it easy).
Joel Embiid – Higher than 34.5 Points
We’ll finish up our three superstar plays by taking the higher than 34.5 points for Joel Embiid. He’s playing at home against the San Antonio Spurs tomorrow night – that’s probably all of the reasoning we need here. If you want more, Embiid is averaging 35.0 ppg this season, tops in the NBA, and is dropping 35.3 a night in January. And he’s beat this 34.5-point projection in three of his last four games.
