Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – January 17
Jalen Suggs – Lower than 11.5 Points
Suggs started the year hot and looked to be falling into the form that the Magic always thought he’d be in. However, as of late, he’s been awful shooting. In the last three games he’s 2-for-13 from three-point (15.4%) and 6-for-21 from the field overall (28.6%). In those games, he’s averaged just five points per game. While the Hawks are the 29th ranked defense in the league, that’s hardly a reason to expect him to double his output here.
Fred VanVleet – Lower than 15.5 Points
Just a few games ago, I was all over the VanVleet ‘Higher than’s. However, like Suggs, he has been icy cold as of late. After having three straight games of 20+ points, he’s barely shot the ball at all. He has just 11 shot attempts over his last two games. At his current shooting percentage, those two games would not be enough to make the projection.
Kevon Looney – Higher than 4.5 Rebounds
Well, I can’t be a downer for every one of my three picks for Wednesday. Looney has been all over this projection as of late. He has five straight games with at least five boards. While some have attributed that to Draymond Green’s absence, he had another five last game with him back.,
