Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – January 14
Myles Turner – Lower than 16.5 Points
As the Indiana Pacers’ second-leading scorer, you’d have expected Myles Turner’s scoring to trend upward while top scorer Tyrese Haliburton is on the sidelines. That hasn’t been the case, which goes to show how much of a playmaker Haliburton is. Turner has only topped 16.5 points once in his last four games and twice in his last seven. Playing on the road in Denver tomorrow, I expect him to score lower than 16.5 points, once again.
Nikola Jokic – Higher than 24.5 Points
It’s a bit of a gamble to take the higher than on a points total for Nikola Jokic in any given game, as he’s not that interested in scoring. However, he’s topped this 24.5 points threshold in his last two games and four of his last five. He’s averaging 25.5 points per game this season. And Indiana’s defense is a sieve. Assuming the Nuggets don’t bury them early and Jokic can call it an early night, he should get us at least 25 points.
LaMelo Ball – Higher than 23.5 Points
Hey – LaMelo Ball is back! And he doesn’t seem to have skipped a beat, as he scored 28 points on Friday in his first on-court action since November 26th. Excluding the game on the 26th where he got injured and only played 15 minutes, he’s topped this 23.5-point projection in 10 straight games. And his season average is above it as well, sitting at 24.9 points. I think he can get us 24 against Miami on Sunday.
